Old Boat  is a collaboration with artist, carpenter, designer Jordan Johnson of Everydays Studio.

Jordan first lived in Rockaway at the Marina 59 street Boatel project once upon a time. And although we didn’t meet then, I was there too, sleeping on old boats and making dear friends. 

I came across Jordan’s work in Rincon, PR where a mutual friend had both our products in a beautiful shop at the crossroads in Puntas. I traded tons of soaps for a smart white pair of pants painted with snakes  up the legs made by Everydays. 

On the ferry landing back home months later, I spied a smiley dude in snake pants and I introduced myself. 

Right away I asked him if he wanted to collaborate on candle club and right away he knew the scent he wanted! “Can it smell like an old boat” he said 

Our candle for you is adorned with Jordan’s namesake totems and hand drawn wood grain and ship portals.. I’ve blended types of wood oils to lend the reminiscence of teak with top notes of tea tree for a scent of pitch & turpentine. There’s a little Vetiver for the smell of hot grassy land on the breeze.
